How do I contact you?

Contacting us can be done in several ways. First of all, you can come to one of the board members during the training for a face-to-face conversation. Secondly, you can send us a WhatsApp message for an extremely quick response from us. Thirdly, you can fill in one of the contact forms on the website (link is in the right column). Finally, you can contact us by e-mail. Tiburón has several e-mail addresses for each department. The e-mail addresses are:

If you find that the response on an e-mail takes too long or you are not sure to which e-mail your question belongs, please send an e-mail to mszvtiburon@maastrichtuniversity, this e-mail gets checked multiple times a day.

How can I become a member?

Great to hear that you want to become a member. The only thing you still need to do is filling in the “join our team” form. The link is in the right column on this page. If you are done with this, we will contact you as soon as possible.

Can take a trial training?

Of course! During the first 2/3 weeks of the season, we have the try 5 trainings of UM SPORTS. If you are not able to come to those trainings please contact us. We will give you a response with the possibilities for a try-out.

How can I report changes? (new address, e-mail, ect.)

If something is changed in your situation for instance: you got a new room, phone number or e-mail please contact us so we can change this in the system. So you can always stay up-to-date with all things we do at Tiburón.

How can I cancel my membership?

Unfortunately, you want to leave us. That’s possible of course, maybe you go on exchange or are done with your study. First of all, thank you of being part of Tiburón. It is time for a new adventure, please contact us that you want to cancel your membership and we will arrange the rest.

I have a complaint/tip. Where can I send it?

We hope that everything always goes perfectly. Of course, this is a dream scenario. If you have a complaint or want to give us a tip about how to improve: please contact us, we are open to all feedback.

Can I contact a confidence person?

Tiburón has a confidence person. Because we found this really important, everything is extra secured and private. If you want to speak to our confidence person please send an e-mail to confidenceperson@mszvtiburon.nl.

Contribution

How much is the contribution?

The contribution for new members is split up into three categories:

  • Full academic year, signed up before the first of October. The membership fee is €47,50
  • Full academic year, signed up after the first of October. The membership fee is €52,50
  • Half year membership, sep-jan or feb-aug. The membership fee is €32,50

As you can see, it’s worth it to sign up before the first of October. This is because of the subsidy.

Next to our contribution, you need to have a UM SPORTS card with at least the ‘sports’ category.

Finally, all new members get a free Tiburón T-shirt.

Can I become a member for half a year?

Yes for sure, the half-year membership will be in the periods: sep-jan or feb-aug. The membership fee is €32,50 and all new members get a free Tiburón T-shirt.

How do I pay my contribution

Tiburón works with a system of direct debit. Unless you announced to pay via a bank transfer. We work with 4 payment periods. The first one is in the middle of November. You will get an e-mail from us in the beginning of November with the payment instructions. This will include the members’ fee and – if you participated – other activities.

Will my membership automatically be renewed?

Yes! Your membership will automatically be renewed. At the end of the season, we will send you several e-mails and reminders if you want to stop or want to continue at Tiburón. In those e-mails and reminders will also give the deadline for your deregistration. Did you miss the deadline? Unfortunately, we have to charge the full membership fee. Of course, we hope that this does not have to happen. That is why we always send extra reminders!

How do I sign up for activities and competitions?

For every activity or competition, there will be announcements and e-mails about how to sign up for that event. Most of the time this is by filling in a contact form on the website. The link to this can always be found in a blog post or in the e-mail that is sent to you.
